The Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) recommends that consideration is given to the use of a Written Scheme of Thorough Examination as a formal method of discharging the duty of care to users under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
A thorough examination is often required by insurance companies as a condition of providing Public Liability Insurance. This is often known as an “insurance inspection report”.
The thorough examination is usually monitored by a local inspector who is authorised by the licensing authority. The inspector can demand that additional tests are performed by skilled escalator engineers if he believes that they are necessary.
We can arrange for our skilled, competent engineers to attend the thorough examination and perform the operations required to complete additional tests to the satisfaction of the inspector, even if we are not your service provider.
The completed inspection report will detail any works which the inspector believes are necessary for the continuing safe operation of your escalator. We are able to complete any works recommended by the local inspector including, but not limited to, internal cleaning of machinery spaces, additional or replacement safety devices, and escalator repairs.
